These reports cannot be used for purposes regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), such as determining eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, or any other FCRA-regulated purpose.
To protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud, unauthorized transactions, claims, or other liabilities, these reports may only be used by parties with a legal or beneficial interest related to the consumer. They may be utilized in the normal course of business by legitimate entities or their agents, employees, or contractors, but only to verify the accuracy of personal information provided by the individual. If such information is found to be incorrect, it may be used to obtain the correct information solely for the purpose of preventing fraud, pursuing legal remedies, or recovering on a debt or security interest. However, this information cannot be used for FCRA-regulated purposes, including determining eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, or any other purpose governed by the FCRA.
Search results will include open accounts, regardless of balance or whether the customer has opted out of privacy disclosure with the financial institution. Closed accounts are typically not included unless specifically requested, in which case they will be billed as a hit. A combined brokerage search is considered a hit even if only bank accounts are found, or vice versa. Results may include the name of the bank and/or brokerage, the most recent branch of processing, and average or exact balances. Account numbers are not provided. Any additional research required due to missing or incorrect information will be billed at our hourly rate, regardless of the outcome. Searches for deceased individuals are billed as hits, irrespective of results.
